It is reported from Harbin Culture & Tourism Group Co.Ltd, the 5th Harbin Songhua River Ice and Snow Happy Valley will open to the public on December 25, 2014. The park will distribute 10,000 free opening tickets for the Harbin residents. Residents with ID cards in hand can get the tickets at No. 120, Central Street, Tourist Service Center.
The park is located on the frozen Songhua River, near the Flood Control Monument, the venue begins in the east from Jingjie Street and ends at Jiuzhan in the west. Its length from east to west is 1,500 meters, its width from south to north is 520 meters and its area is 760,000 square meters. It boast of the largest "enjoy ice and snow" scenic area in the world.
The park consists of 8 areas. It will operate about 50 days. There is no entrance fee to the park, but if the tourists who take part in the interesting ice and snow activities, they must pay on their own. Some activities including snowmobiling, skating, snow cycling, sliding, dog sledding and so on, totally 50 activities.
