The magic, tranquility and stunning beauty of the Northeast China winter will surround you like a downy quilt. The itinerary includes Harbin Ice Festival, skiing and interesting ice related activities, plus plenty of time to see the awesome beautiful rime in Jilin, explore the history of puppet Manchuria regime and the early Qing Dynasty in Changchun and Shenyang. Day by Day Itinerary

  • Day 1 Harbin

    Transfer via: flight – your arrangement

    Activities for today: Ice Lantern Fair, airport to hotel transfer (Harbin)

    Meet your guide at the airport and then transfer to hotel check in. This evening visit the Ice Lantern Fair in Zhaolin Park.

  • Day 2 Harbin

    Transfer via: private vehicle

    Activities for today: St. Sofia Church, Central Street, Stalin Park, Flood Control Monument, Siberian Tiger Park, International Snow Sculpture Art Expo, Harbin Polarland, Ice and Snow World

    Morning tour St. Sofia Church, Central Street, Stalin Park, the Flood Control Monument and Siberian Tiger Park. After lunch, proceed to visit Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo and Harbin Polarland. In the evening, visit the Ice and Snow World.

  • Day 3 Harbin/Jihua Ski Resort/Harbin

    Transfer via: private vehicle

    Activities for today: Jihua Ski Resort

    Today's excursion will take you to Jihua Ski Resort to enjoy skiing (ski fee is at your own expense). The ski resort has equipment for rent, if you are a beginner, you can even hire a skimeister. After lunch, you may choose to do some interesting winter activities (e.g. snow tubing, horse sledding, ice sliding, flying disc, snow football etc. at your own expense). Drive back to Harbin around 16:00.

  • Day 4 Harbin/Jilin

    Transfer via: private vehicle

    Activities for today: Jilin Rime Island, Jilin Meteorite Museum, Beishan Scenic Area

    Morning drive to Jilin City. Upon arrival, have lunch and then move to see the beautiful rime on the Rime Island. Later, proceed to visit Jilin Meteorite Museum and Beishan Scenic Area (North Hill Park).

    -Beishan Scenic Area
    Known as "scared ground for nine dragons", the park is famous for its Buddhist temples and mountain scenery. With a history of over 300 years, originally was called Jiulong Mountain (Nine Dragon Mountain) and said to be "the emerging place for dragons". Emperor Kangxi and Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty ever made a round and climbed the mountain for sight-seeing.

  • Day 5 Jilin/Changchun

    Transfer via: private vehicle

    Activities for today: Puppet Manchurian Palace, Eight Ministries of Manchukuo, Culture Square, shopping

    Drive to Changchun to see the Puppet Manchurian Palace and the Eight Ministries of Manchukuo. Later, visit the Culture Square, where you can take some pictures or buy some local products and tourist souvenirs at its nearby shops, you can taste some ginseng tea if you visit the ginseng shops.

    -Puppet Manchurian Palace
    Pu Yi, the last emperor of China once lived in the palace for some years in the 1930s-1940s. When Japan installed him as figurehead ruler of the puppet state of Manchukuo and made Changchun its capital.

  • Day 6 Changchun/Shenyang

    Transfer via: private vehicle

    Activities for today: Shenyang Imperial Palace, Former Residence of Zhangs, Museum of Finance, Building of Miss Zhao

    Drive about 5 hours to Shenyang, the largest city in Northeast China. Upon arrival, have lunch and visit Shenyang Imperial Palace, a complex of palace buildings dating back to the Qing Dynasty that is second only to Beijing's Forbidden City in historical importance and aesthetic value. Afterward, continue to see the, the Museum of Finance and the Building of Miss Zhao.

    -Shenyang Imperial Palace
    The Shenyang Imperial Palace, also known as the Mukden Palace, is the former imperial palace of the early Qing Dynasty of China. It was built in 1625 and the first three Qing emperors lived there from 1625 to 1644.

    -Former Residence of Zhangs
    It belongs to General Zhang Zuolin and Zhang Xueliang, father and son warlords, both have outstanding influence in China's modern history. The residence includes many famous buildings, such as the Museum of Finance and the Building of Miss Zhao.

  • Day 7 Shenyang/Exit

    Transfer via: flight - your arrangement

    Activities for today: Fuling Tomb, Xiaonan Cathedral, Qing Dynasty Street, airport transfer (Shenyang)

    After breakfast, visit the Fuling Tomb, Xiaonan Cathedral and its Teaching House, Qing Dynasty Street and perhaps some feather patchwork shops. Later, transfer to the airport for the flight to your next destination.

    -Fuling Tomb
    The Fuling Tomb also known as the East Tomb, is the mausoleum of Nurhaci, the founding emperor of the Qing Dynasty and his wife, Empress Xiaocigao. It served as the main site for ritual ceremonies conducted by the imperial family during the entire Qing Dynasty.

    -Feather patchwork
    The feather patchwork was once popular with the royalty during the Qing Dynasty, it is now a unique of Shenyang.
