Here is the basic itinerary for sightseeing Nanjing and Yangzhou in 2 days, not so rush. There are many places to see in the two cities. This is useful for especially first-timer to Jiangsu province of China. We pick up "must see" places!
Transfer via: flight - your arrangement
Activities for today: airport transfer, Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum, Zhonghua City Gate
Your guide will meet you at the airport or railway station and transfer you to your hotel. You’ll then head for a city tour .We recommend you book flights arriving at Nanjing before 11:00 a.m.
12:00 a.m. Lunch time (lunch is arranged on your own)
13:30 p.m. Take the private bus to Purple Mountain Area. Visit Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum.
Dr.Sun Yat Sen’s mausoleum is situated at the foot of the second peak of Mount Zijin (Purple Mountain). Construction of the tomb started in 1926, taking three years. On first July 1929, Dr. Sun was buried there. Sun has been respected as Father of Modern China since he fought unyieldingly against the corrupt Qing government and led the 1911 revolution to end feudal system and found Republic of China, leading Chinese people into a new era.
15:00 p.m. Visit Zhonghua City Gate.
Zhonghua Gate,means Chinese gate, was the biggest and most splendid city gate of Nanjing city wall in the Ming dynasty. The gate was built from 1366 to 1386 and originally named Gate of Gathering Treasure, since legend says in the construction, the wall collapsed again and again before a Box of Gathering Treasure was buried under. The whole structure was built with huge bricks and special cement made from lime, tung oil and sticky rice juice, extraordinarily strong.
17:00 p.m. Return to your hotel.

Activities for today: Slim West Lake, Ge Garden, Yangzhou Museum
08:30 a.m. Depart from your hotel.
10:00 a.m. Take the private bus to Yangzhou. Visit Slim West Lake
The Slim West Lake in the western suburb of Yangzhou was originally known as the Baozhang River, a natural river course through which runoffs from Zhugang Mountain empties into the Grand Canal.
11:30 a.m. Visit Ge Garden
Ge Garden, one of the four best gardens in China and the magnum opus of private gardens in Qing Dynasty, is well known as the only extant of gardening art for its Four-season Rockeries. Ge Garden uses bamboo and rocks as its principal elements and is characterized by stone-piling.
13:00 p.m. Lunch time (lunch is arranged on your own)
14:30 p.m. Yangzhou Museum
Yangzhou Museum is the biggest museum in Yangzhou. Yangzhou Museum is housed in a modern building, covering an area of 50,000 square metres. It shares its lobby with the adjacent China Block Printing Museum; together the two museums are commonly known as the Yangzhou Double Museum.
16:00 p.m. Transfer back to Nanjing and drop off at your hotel.
