Ice Palace Restaurant & Ice Bar at Shangri-La Hotel Harbin

Each winter, the Shangri-La Hotel Harbin transforms into a wonderland of ice and fire with its seasonal Ice Palace Restaurant and Ice Bar, open from late December through mid-February. This extraordinary venue is constructed entirely from ice blocks harvested from the Songhua River, with interior decorations celebrating the rich folklore and wintry ethnic traditions of Northeast China.

At the heart of the experience is the Ice Palace Restaurant, where the indoor temperature hovers around minus 18°C. The venue offers four private rooms and a spacious main hall that together seat approximately 90 guests. Diners can savor bubbling hot pots—including classic spicy and seafood flavors—while surrounded by colorful ice lights that illuminate the crystalline walls. Recent seasons have introduced refined hot pot sets starting from RMB 398 per person for the classic option and RMB 598 per person for the seafood selection. The Ice Bar welcomes around 30 guests and serves vodka, whisky, Glühwein, and a variety of hot drinks to warm both body and spirit.
