Harbin Ice and Snow World 2015, or 16th Harbin Ice and Snow World was opened to tourists on December. 22, 2014. It is one of the main four theme parks of the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival 2015. Taking "the Wonderland in the Land of Snow, the Grand View in the World of Ice and Snow" as its theme, it will be closed at the end of February of 2015. The best time to visit the park is at night because it looks more beautiful and fantastic when the buildings and sculptures are lit up by colorful lights. You can get there around dusk (which can be 4:30 pm during the winter), and you can find many things to do in the park this winter:
Watching Colorful Sculptures and Buildings
Harbin ice and snow world is an area open during at day and night which features numerous giant buildings, ice sculptures, snow sculptures, and ice lanterns. The full size buildings made from blocks of 2–3' thick ice directly taken from the Songhua River. They are illuminated by colorful LED lights, it wows you with its sheer size and creativity. Many sculptures are created to be the actual size of buildings and you could actually enter these ice buildings or walk along the ice corridor. This winter, the highlight building is the "Fairy Tower", which is located in the center of the park and encompassed by more than 100 beautiful ice and snow sculptures.
Watching Wonderful Shows
Many wonderful shows are on the ice and snow world park every night. You can see different style shows as you like. Two of the famous shows are from Europe. One is acrobatic show and the other is song and dance show. The show time is 17:30 - 18:30; 19:30 - 20:30, each show lasts about 1 hour.
More than 10,000 people do disco, rabbit dance, and square dance in the park every night. Joining in one of the big dancing groups is one of the interactive programs in the park. Don’t miss the opportunity to make new friends.
Enjoying Ice Activities
In the park, you can take part in more than 20 interesting ice and snow activities. Some recommended are skiing, snow saucer, experience the 300-meter long ice slide, or to take the high strop to immerse yourself in the fantastic ice and snow world.
Drinking and Eating
If you are trying to get some rest in the park. The hot drinks parlors and restaurants are the best places. Along the 120-meter viewing gallery, you can find UBC Coffee, Yoshinoya, KFC, Orient King of Dumplings, and some other Chinese and foreign restaurants. You can taste all kinds of food from all over the world in the park.
