The 36th Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo had already started shoveling and carving in Sun Island Park a week ago. After preliminary work such as snow making and piling, many giant snow blocks have been formed, and workers are meticulously carving around them. The snow sculptures of "Dancing Swans", "Blue and White Porcelain", and "Flavor of Guandong (Northeast China)" have been completed. The sculptures of "Dragon Soaring in Fushan (Happy Mountain)", "Surprising Sun ", "New Year Painting Street" and the "Water Pavilion Great Slide" has been carved. The outer box panels of the snow sculptures "Thermometer" and "Voice of Spring" have been removed. Recently, preparations are being made to carve, and the highly anticipated main sculpture "Edelweiss" will be carved around the 15th. At present, the overall snow sculpture project in the park is being carried out in full swing. It is believed that in the near future, a beautiful and flawless snow world will soon meet with tourists from all over the world.
Entering the Sun Island Park, your can see the snow sculptors are busy working. Stacking snow, erecting poles, blocking boards, shaping, and carving, all processes are coordinated and orderly. The sculptors use snow walls as drawing boards and snow shovels as brushes to carefully carve unique and creative snow sculptures, adding unique scenery and poetic painting to the winter of the park.
In order to showcase the perfect effect of the snow sculptures, each sculptor strictly abides by the construction requirements, ensures the quality of carving, and endows the snow with exquisite skills, showcasing the unique charm of Harbin's ice and snow, and bringing a winter ice and snow feast to Harbin citizens and tourists.
This winter, Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo focuses on ice and snow culture, using the Asian Winter Games as a carrier to create creative snow sculptures. With the theme of "Warmth Snow Sculpture Art Expo, Chasing Dreams in Asian Winter Games", the park will take more than 20 days to make 232 large and over 100 small snow sculptures, with a total snow consumption of 150,000 cubic meters.
