On December 31, 2023, the 36th Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo officially opened to visitors. The Expo is the birthplace of the snow sculpture art in China, and also the largest and highest level snow sculpture event in China.
The 36th Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo is themed "Warm Snow Expo · Chasing Dreams in Asian Winter Games". The park is planned to be designed around the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games. Within a planned area of 1 million square meters, approximately 232 snow sculptures are being showed there, with a total snow usage of 150,000 cubic meters. The main snow sculpture "Edelweiss" uses 35,000 cubic meters of snow.
