China's Snow Town Welcomes Visitors with Winter Splendor

Heilongjiang, Dec. 17 – China's Snow Town, a highly anticipated winter destination, officially opened to the public in the early hours of December 17, welcoming visitors with fully upgraded ice and snow landscapes, folk culture experiences, and tourism services.

This winter, the resort has prepared more than 30 featured cultural and tourism activities, integrating traditional folk customs, modern performances, and digital light displays to provide visitors with a comprehensive immersive winter experience.

China's Snow Town - 2026

In addition to continuing its classic combination of snowy landscapes and folk culture, this year Snow Town introduces three new highlights tailored to visitor expectations:

  • New Year market, serving as a central daytime attraction, offers over a thousand types of specialty products, including northeastern mountain goods and handicrafts. Stalls wrapped in red ribbons set against the pure white snow allow visitors to savor festive customs ahead of the new year.

  • The nighttime experience has been elevated with both technological charm and lively atmosphere. Beyond the classic float parades and laser shows, hundreds of drones will now form dynamic patterns such as “snow mushrooms” and red lanterns in the night sky, using digital imagery to highlight the beauty of the snowscape.

  • Flash mob performances by local bands will appear spontaneously along Xueyun Street, offering delightful surprises for visitors at every turn.

With a “visitor-first” philosophy, Snow Town has refined its services down to the smallest details. The resort continues its tradition of state-run stores stabilizing commodity prices, offering a wide range of forest foods and cultural products at affordable rates. Smart tourism services have also been enhanced: a one-stop WeChat mini-program now supports the entire travel process—from planning and recommendations to feedback and complaints. Staff members wear prominent badges reading “Come to me if you need help,” ensuring prompt assistance is always available. Complimentary luggage transfer and guided shuttle services remain in place, while newly built “warm-heart stations” provide free ginger tea, hot water, and charging ports—adding comfort and convenience to every journey.

Throughout the operating season, a wide range of activities will ensure that each visit offers a fresh experience. Daily yangko dance performances on Xueyun Street invite visitors to join in and experience the warmth of northeastern traditions. As night falls, snowfield dance parties and firework displays will keep the winter energy high. One particularly anticipated event is the National Folk Yangko Competition, which will bring yangko teams from across China to Snow Town, showcasing diverse regional traditions and bringing to life the vision of “China’s Snow Town, Shared with the World.”
