Construction of Harbin Ice and Snow World 2022 Kicks off

This year's construction of the Harbin Ice and Snow World recently started, with the attraction scheduled to open to the public in mid-December.

The ever-popular entertainment extravaganza is a highlight of the annual ice and snow festival in Harbin, capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province.

This year marks the 23rd anniversary of Harbin Ice and Snow World, which is an entertainment park featuring giant ice buildings built each year during winter.

The 23rd Harbin Ice and Snow World has as its theme "the light of the Winter Olympics shines in the world.”

Cultural and sports elements from the Winter Olympics will be included among the park's structures – highlighting the growing excitement about the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics 2022, set to take place on Feb 4-20.

Compared with the parks constructed in previous years, the construction scale of the Harbin Ice and Snow World this year will reach 285,000 square meters and the number of ice and snow landscapes will be increased to 65.

It's also widely anticipated that the aesthetic and visual appeal of the park will this year be even more thrilling.

In addition to admiring the ice and snow buildings and landscapes, the park will organize themed activities during the Spring Festival, Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve.
