Construction of the 38th Harbin Sun Island Snow Sculpture Art Expo is now in full swing, with all projects rushing toward completion. Across the site, work is heating up as multiple ice and snow landscapes take shape simultaneously, paving the way for an art exhibition that blends creativity and craftsmanship.
Two snow sculptures—"Mr. Snowman" and the panda-themed "Visitor to Sun Island"—have already been completed, serving as adorable welcoming ambassadors for the expo. Meanwhile, outlines of other large-scale snow sculpture groups are emerging. In the freezing wind, sculptors can be seen meticulously carving the snow with professional tools. Their busy figures set against the pure white snow ensure the festival will be ready to greet visitors from near and far.
Under the theme “Poetic Scenery in the Ice and Snow World,” this year’s festival covers a planned area of 1.5 million square meters, using a total of 120,000 cubic meters of snow. It introduces a new “7+2” layout, featuring seven themed zones including the “Auspicious Snow Horse” welcome area, the “Harbin Melody” immersive zone, and the “Giant Creature Home” fantasy zone, along with two extended interactive spaces: the “Snowman” and “Winter Swimming” photo spots. Together, they will offer visitors a fresh and multi-dimensional experience.
