The 40th Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival Symphony Concert Will Kick Off


To promote ice and snow culture and create a strong atmosphere for welcoming the Asian Winter Games, the 40th China Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival Symphony Concert, hosted by the Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, will be held at the Harbin Concert Hall at 19:00 on January 4th.

This concert will be performed by the Harbin Symphony Orchestra led by Tang Muhai, the artistic director of the Harbin Symphony Orchestra and international Chinese conductor master. Lu Siqing, an internationally renowned violinist, Yang Xiaoyong, a renowned baritone singer, You Hongfei, a soprano singer, and other players will be invited to join the performance, with Harbin Music Voice Chorus serving as the choir. At the concert, Lu Siqing will bring the First Violin Concerto composed by Zhao Jiping; You Hongfei will sing I am Like Snowflakes from the Sky; Yang Xiaoyong will sing Georges Bizet's Song of the Toreador and collaborate with You Hongfei to sing the excerpt Silent Listening from the opera The Merry Widow.

Tang Muhai, the artistic director of the Harbin Symphony Orchestra and international Chinese conductor master, is a world-renowned award winner. He is the only Chinese conductor of this century to win the American Grammy Award in 2004 and the German "Echo-Klassik" (Classical Echo) Award in 2006, and the Italian Oscar International Golden Opera Award in 2017.

Lu Siqing, an internationally renowned violinist, is undoubtedly the most active and outstanding Chinese violinist in the music industry today, as the first Oriental to win the gold medal at the International Violin Competition Premio Paganini in Italy, one of the highest international violin art awards.

Yang Xiaoyong, a famous baritone singer and opera performer, is a specially appointed professor and master's supervisor at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. In 1988, Yang Xiaoyong visited the United States as a scholar and starred in the opera Hans and Grete.

The soprano singer You Hongfei from the Central Opera House graduated from the China Conservatory of Music is a member of the China Musicians Association. She has been awarded titles such as "Cultural Master" and "Talents of Four Batches" by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, as well as "Excellent Expert" by the Ministry of Culture. She has also been recognized as one of the "Top Ten Chinese sopranos" by the Music Channel of China Media Group.

With a history of over a hundred years, Harbin Symphony Orchestra boasts of excellently completed numerous large-scale performances in recent years, including the China·Harbin Summer Concert, Harbin China Russia Cultural and Art Exchange Week, Harbin Music Competition, Schoenfeld International String Competition, and National Vocal Competition, adding a vivid color to the magnificent picture of Harbin, the "City of Music"
