On December 25 at 9:30 AM, the 2026 Eighth Harbin Songhua River Ice and Snow Carnival commenced its trial opening.
Located on the frozen surface of the Songhua River behind the Flood Control Monument, this year’s carnival revolves around the theme "Ice and Snow · Joy Together." Stretching from the Binzhou Railway Bridge in the east to the Jiuzhan Beach in the west, the design incorporates the "Two Mountains" concept and the culture of the Year of the Horse. Empowered by technology, it features the "Twin Peaks in Splendor" themed landscape and a main gate inspired by "Galloping Ten Thousand Horses," with intelligent control of ice and snow structures achieved through patented technology from Harbin Institute of Technology.
This year’s Ice and Snow Carnival introduces nearly 60 unique activities catering to all ages, offering a comprehensively upgraded visitor experience. The "Joyful Snow Slide" has been optimized, while the "Super Ice Slide" now features wave-like light effects. Snow drifting is divided into separate zones for adults and children, and ice and snow hovercrafts and motorcycles deliver double the excitement. Additionally, traditional northern activities such as spinning ice tops and ice sleds are retained, and public welfare projects like children’s snow slides are open. The park has also enhanced the ice fishing experience area, integrated ethnic minority culture, and created a 1,600-meter-long "Snow Sculpture Art Gallery."
